Help!! I’m trying to organize a produce exchange in the llittle city I live in. Temple City California. I think our population is 37,000. Anyway, we have a concert in our local park every Wed. evening and it is very well attended. My fantasy is I have a table at this event. Folks bring me their bag of vegies, fruit, herbs, etc. During the concert, I divide the items and these same folks leave the park with a variety of items. No cost to anyone. I’m well connected in the city. I’m the nurse at one of our elementary schools and have lived here for 25 years. Initially, I thought this would be a no brainer. I’d get the word out in the local paper and word of mouth. I was told no by the park and rec department!! There was ‘liability’ involved. I don’t like being told no, so I attended the city council meeting last week and was told they’d put it on their agenda. Anyone have any advise??

What a wonderful idea. I always fancied myself picking fresh herbs off my little pots, we don’t have much of outdoor space, much less a garden. All of them died in a couple of weeks. Talk about brown thumb, mine’s black!

I live on the West side — Santa Monica/ Venice. Is there an exchange around here?

You can start the Valley chapter! I’ve heard from a lot of folks there – It’s easy!
